Further Mathematics is an AS/A Level qualification which both broadens and deepens the mathematics covered in AS/A Level Mathematics. AS Further Mathematics is designed to be learnt alongside AS Level Mathematics in Year 12 or taken up as a new AS subject alongside A2 Mathematics in year 13. For AS Further Maths, 3 units will be taken. FP1 - Pure maths and D1/2 - Decision Maths. For A2 Further Maths, 3 more units will be taken. Either FP2 or FP3 along with M2/3 - Mechanics. Course content: Pure Maths, e.g. induction proof, complex numbers. Decision Maths, e.g. algorithms to solve problems, linear programming, game theory, travelling salesman problem.
