What licence do I need to drive an ambulance?

Are you a trainee paramedic looking for ambulance driver training? a lot of people don't know this but because the gross weight of an ambulance is usually over 3.5ton you can't drive it on your normal licence, a HGV 7.5ton licence is needed, So if you need to drive an ambulance then you will also need to go through the process of obtaining a HGV licence we will explain the steps below 

D4 Drivers Medical

First of all, to drive an ambulance, you will need to attend a medical to prove to the DVLA that you are a fit and proper person to drive a HGV vehicle 

Theory Test & Hazard Perception

Practical Driving Tests

The next step will be to prepare for your 3A practical reversing test. Our professional instructors will show you how to perform the reversing exercise. After that, you will begin driving on the road and preparing for your 3B practical driving test.
