Course Description
Students on this course will learn the advanced skills needed as a Lead Practitioner in Adult Care. Students will cover a range of advanced theories and practices relating to Adult Care to help them learn and develop as lead practitioners.
Who is the course for?
Lead Practitioners in Adult Care may work in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres, a person’s own home or some clinical healthcare settings. As well as covering Lead Practitioners in Adult Care this standard also covers Lead Personal Assistants who can work at this senior level but they may only work directly for one individual who needs support and/or care services, usually within their own home.
What you will study?
Students will cover a range of advanced theories and practices relating to Adult Care to help them learn and develop as lead practitioners.
Topics include:
- Statutory frameworks, standards, guidance and Codes of Practice which underpin practice in relation to the safe delivery of services
- Theories underpinning own practice and competence relevant to the job role
- Principles of assessment and outcome based practice
Where will training take place?
This will be a mixture of development in the workplace and knowledge workshops at our premises in Liverpool & St Helens and via virtual learning platforms.
Progression Opportunities
Students can progress their learning with higher qualifications or study in a different area of care to broaden their knowledge.
